It all started when Michelle Tuplin, owner of Serendipity Books, used her TikTok account to share that her store was moving to a bigger and better space on the same street and asked for help with the move.
On the big day, 300 people formed two huge lines from the old location to the new one, passing each of the books hand to hand until they were all in place.
In just two hours, the “Book Brigade” had relocated all the items onto shelves and in alphabetical order. The sight of people on the sidewalk passing books to one another moved the internet.
“Things like this make me love humans so much. AMAZING,” said one user in a post shared by the bookstore on Instagram.
“This is the coolest thing I’ve seen today. People and communities can be so beautiful,” wrote another.
“Despite everything, the world is still a good place,” commented a third.
